Yosemite National Park - Part 1

Three days in Yosemite National Park

Momster came too!

From San Francisco we drove through into the Valley, through the
farmlands of olive and almond trees...

...made our way up increasing elevation...

....had a lunch break at a swimming hole...

Yum. Salad at the swimmin hole.

Met a swimmin hole lunch buddy.
No time to swim though, we had limestone to see.

At last we were in Yosemite National Park.

Inspiration Point.
El Capitan on the left, Half Dome off in the distance to the right.
Glorious majesty wherever you look!

El Capitan.
there are a few brave souls climbing up it.

Took a short, easy hike when we got into the park.

What an amazingly beautiful place.

See the waterfalls?

The Merced River flows through the entire area. Our camp site (outside of the park)
was along the river. Which meant we could take a quick splash in after setting up camp.

Aaaahhh. Cool on my hot, tired feetsies.
The rocks are sharp and hard to walk on though.
Glad I brought some water shoes for my next walk in the river.

A swimming spot near our campsite.
The water is cool and brisk, but feels great after a day of driving and
hiking and setting up our tents.

View from the water.

The view under the water!

View from camp.
A beautiful place to relax, under the shadows of the hills.

Plague?!

Return for Part 2 where we visit the giant redwoods and hike up a mountain
to see a lake!
