I'm Coily! The Spring Sprite! It's Spring!

Easter time is heeeere 🎶
Peeps errywhere

So, I have this to deal with now.
The roof is trying to escape.

Promptly called a local roof-fixing company and was told that
it can't be simply repaired because my shingles are discontinued.
So, my home insurance company has been involved and now I'm
looking at a new roof this year.
Something I was hoping to push off until at least next year,
but, with assistance from aforesaid insurance company, it
might not be as painful as I was expecting.
At least I won't be any more broke than I already am.

In the meantime, the shingles have been secured and waterproofed.
Dealing with house insurance agents has been much more pleasant than dealing
with car insurance agents. I wonder why that is.

Alejandro is springtime festive.

The painting never ends. Used the leftover office paint in the stairwell foyer.
I'm planning to get another gallon of the same color and will use it in the bedroom.
It goes well with the dark blue accent walls.
The dark brown accents give an illusion of wooden beams.

Took a break from all of the painting to play some tunes at the jazz jam.
Here with my saxophone buddy, John.

The annual allotment of marshmallow Peeps.
Haven't broken into the yearly Cadbury eggs yet.

S'mores flavored, dipped in chocolate. Yummy!

And, I've been influenced by all of the social media videos about this Dubai chocolate.
I found some at a local grocery store.
Tasty, and rich, so I'm eating only bits at a time.
I've shared several pieces with a friend and my parents when they came up for Easter.

The green stuff inside is pistachio cream.

The crunchy stuff is something called kadayif.
After a quick look up, I've learned that kadayif is a pastry dough,
made from shredded filo strands.

Easter Sunday.
Momster and Daddio usually come up to visit and have lunch.

We had a tasty brunch buffet, then popped into Menards for a few things.
The mirror aisle was fun.

A bit of a cold day. But we stopped at an overlook I had discovered and took in the view.

Caught a showing of the Sinners movie.
A vampire movie set in the Jim Crow Mississippi Delta.
It's a delightfully fun vampire flick with a killer soundtrack.
I really enjoyed it. Remember to stick around for the mid-credits scene!

Before
The closet

Pumpkinhead got a spa day in the bed while I painted the wall.

Voila! A dark blue accent wall.

The closet has transformed a few times over the years, and will probably continue
to shift around until I am happy with it. But that's how it's supposed to be in your house.

That look you have while watching the internet installers work outside.

Watching them drill more holes in the walls.
Replacing cable internet with fiber internet.
So far so good.
And at a lower price.

network before.

Network after.
Modem returned to Mediacom.
Replaced with two small box gadgets, connected to my own
Wi-Fi router. Haven't had any problems yet.
I velcro-ed the box to the TV cabinet.

Contractor gave me some shingle shamples to look at.
Leaning towards the Cobblestone Gray.
A house with no AC needs all the heat reflectors it can get,
and while I don't know for sure that a lighter colored roof will make
a house cooler, it doesn't hurt to try.

mmmm, springy

Speaking of spring, it's spring-cleaning time!
Got the yard mowed for the first time this year, filled in some
holes with topsoil, cleared out some weeds, did a bunch of
laundry, and went through the stack of paperwork to throw out
old and irrelevant stuff.

The shamrock plant is doing well. It seems to like this window.
The hard part is remembering to water it more often than the cactus.

The polished result. This part of the house feels more complete now.
Found this great whale poster to fill the big empty space on the kitchen wall,
and the new paint makes the stairs feel a pit cozier.

The Creole tomato artwork is from an artist in Jackson Square in New Orleans.
