Intermission Riff

Back home, and slowly unpacking everything.
Returning to my normal schedule.

Jumped back into the music scene with a performance with
a saxophone ensemble at a local small town fall festival.
It's just not fall until I've played a polka or three.

Finally saw the inside of the Weinermobile.
I see it all the time driving around, but I haven't been able to
stop in while it is open.

Then to an art fair in town.
Got this cute frog hat.

And some new artwork.

Visited the Renaissance fairyyee
Saw pirates and a sword swallower and people throwing axes.

Caught the end of the jousting tournament.

Found these awesome sunglasses.
Now just need to get an excuse to wear them somewhere.

Had two playing jobs that weekend.
The first was for a private dance party.

The second was a monthly dance at a tiny Iowa town
about an hour north of the QCA.

Amidst the Fairryeyeye and the saxophoning, I ran the
QC Marathon 10K.
I usually run the half marathon, but for hopefully obvious reasons,
I have not had enough time to properly train for 13 miles.
This year, the QC races offered a 10K distance. Essentially
the last 6 miles of the marathon.
It was a good compromise.

The skies have been amazing lately.
Some storms and rains passing through.

Sat in with a local band at the casino.
Went okay for never having rehearsed with these folks.

And, finally, I got a bike!
A friend was selling their old Trek.
It got some attention at the bike repair shop, then I rode it home.

Not the world's best bike, and definitely a bit dated, (I think it was made in 1999)
but it works for me. Nice to have a bike again.

And now it is the spooky season!

Thank you for checking in at this Intermission post from
all of the Africa things.

Next post, we resume the safari.
