Dinosaurs, Trees, and Rawwks (I mean Rocks)

 Well Hi there, July!

As we near the end of another month, I find myself behind
on updating the ol' Antelope Range.

This is what's been going on:

Hit the road, headed to Wisconsin for the Dave Matthews Band concert at Alpine Valley

First stop: Dixon, Illinois

Dixon has a Fake Berlin Wall
They wanted a part of the real wall, and when that didn't work out,
an artist made one. It's still kind of neat.

:-(

Then a short walk across the bridge and a stroll along the Rock River.

Front Seat Shark! NOOOOOO!
We got him back. Whew!

Little car show on the opposite bridge going back to the other side of the river.

Another quick detour into Oregon, Illinois to visit the huge Blackhawk statue.

Saw these on the drive out of Oregon.
Still haven't figured out what they belong to.

In Rockford, we met the Rock Guardians

An art installation along the Rock River.
These larger than life warriors protect the riverfront.

Also, Cheap Trick is from Rockford. 🎸

Took a walk in the Klehm Arboretum, also in Rockford.

They currently have a Lego installation, throughout the park are
wonderful Lego critters. Like this Lego mantis.

These goofy looking dinosaurs are not Lego.
And kind of outdated. Why are they here?
Are there dinosaur scientists who still believe they looked like this?
They're kind of like the GEICO gecko, but sillier.

They have accepted me as their leader

Lego Monarch on Lego flower

Non Lego flower. So pretty

Tried to get a picture with the camera timer.
But there was nowhere to set the camera in front of the
cutout. So we are looking at the camer on a bench that was
a bit too far to one side.

Found the perfect tree with perfect lighting inside of it.

It was almost time to get checked into our hotel and make our way to
the concert. But this post is getting a bit long. Next post: DAVE!
