Start your engines!

Sunday in the Park

Because life is weird right now, Momster and I did a virtual half marathon.
I set the route to take us along the bike path on the Iowa side of the QCA.
We ran out to Credit Island, home to, among other things, this sculpture
which is part of a larger installation that depicts Georges Seurat's
A Sunday Afternoon on La Grande Jatte
You can find the painting on display at the
Art Institute in Chicago.

Medals by mail

Halfway through Dave Matthews' book. It's aimed at young adults,
but still an enjoyable read.

Say hello to Alejandro!
Is that an elephant in your lap or are you just glad to see me?

Who wore it better?

After 15 years, it was time to get the Parrot a new perch.
She resisted, to say the least.
I even laid the new perch in front of the cage for a few days to give
her a chance to get used to it.
Still, the first several days with it inside her cage was a game of
"The Perch is Lava" as she took every other available route to
the food and water bowls or to toys or to other perches without
once touching the horrible new thing.

After 10 days, she finally decided it was acceptable and has started using it.

Smooches!
